Even een redactie tip voor jullie op de donderdagmiddag. We zijn namelijk sinds kort verzot aan de beauty producten van het merk The Ordinary wat sinds een aantal maanden verkrijgbaar is in Nederland. Wellicht zijn we hiermee een beetje spuit elf, maar alsnog vonden we het de moeite waard om te delen.

Eind 2018 opende The Abnormal Beauty Company hun eerste vestiging in onze hoofdstad in de Runstraat met daarbij cultmerk The Ordinary. Dit merk uit Canada is in 2016 opgezet en werd vrijwel direct populair omdat hun producten geen onnodige geurstoffen bevatten, de verpakkingen zien er goed uit en ze brachten het op de markt als ‘klinische formuleringen met integriteit’ omdat ze werken met actieve ingrediënten zoals retinol, vitamine C en hyaluronzuur.

Straight to the point

Hun verpakking zijn eenvoudig met daarop aangekaart welke ingrediënten ze gebruiken en de wetenschappelijk bewezen voordelen voor de huid. Je kan de producten online bestellen maar we raden het vooral aan om langs de winkel te gaan om producten uit te zoeken die bij jouw huidtype passen. Er zijn twee dingen die vooral ook een giga impact hebben op het succes van het merk. Allereerst zijn ze enorm transparant over alle ingrediënten die ze gebruiken in hun producten. Het tweede is dat ze ontzettend betaalbaar zijn. Hun prijzen variëren zo tussen de vijf à vijftien euro waardoor het toegankelijker is voor een groter publiek.

Antioxidants act like scavengers, seeking out free radicals to balance oxidative stress. While our bodies are expertly designed and offer their own antioxidant system to maintain equilibrium, the application of topical antioxidants is similar to the approach of Suncare – they increase protection and limit the potential for ongoing damage to maintain healthy functioning skin. EUK 134™ has been shown to improve visible redness and protect against the appearance of UV damage, but it does not play nicely with strong acids as they will completely destroy the EUK 134™. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Pycnogenol ® 5% is a unique and powerful antioxidant made up of a natural plant extract derived from the pine bark of French maritime pine trees. It contains procyanidins, bioflavonoids and organic acids that work synergistically with the aim of enhancing skin hydration and elasticity. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% combines very high concentrations these two powerful antioxidants found in plants and plant cells. The aim of this formulation is to help support the skin’s defense against oxidative stress caused by environmental factors that contribute to the loss of visible skin quality over time. The benefits of topically applied resveratrol and ferulic acid are continuing and cumulative. ?
